I take pictures of what I do, my work is a roamer's diary. I dont intend to document reality as it is, nor create an elaborated view on the world. I see my work as a romantic testimony in the heart of a busy, rational and quantified world, a lone quest of empty and remote places.
I seek to give reality a sense of still, mysterious, eerie fiction, built with a question mark around it, because the job of the artist is always to deepen the mystery, Francis Bacon once expressed.
Whatever if they’re of a building, an interior or an object, I want my pictures to somehow have psychology, to say something about people.
I roam, recreating a world where imagination and fantasy may overcome reality.
By conveying this sense of loss, isolation or mystery, I am trying to leave space for the viewer to make up her/his own stories, to feel « the pleasure of not knowing » as Todd Hido says, when our mind eventually leads us to unexpected territories.
